Why is it that even though I’ve told my Mac’s iTunes I don’t want to be alerted to every little update to it, Software Update insists on downloading 50+ MB of updates every week? How do I get that to stop?

Stop using Itunes? I have never understood why everybody thinks that is such a great piece of software. On Windows anyway, it was a slow resource hog.
You see, that’s the thing. I don’t really use it much at all. That’s why I don’t care to download every 50MB patch Apple chooses to release.
Heck, I may even uninstall it from my Mac.
Install real player, then you will be glad that you only get one message a week from itunes.
get a Zune? 😉
I don’t speak MAC but from the manual it looks like you can make itunes updates inactive:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106705
Kind of implies that inactive status will stop it.

Yep, that did it, Ron. Thanks!
