Trains and Travis

We put some pics up of today’s trip to the Railway, including this nice shot of us hanging with Santa.

Later today, as I was about to do some yard work, Kelly suggested I stick around a bit longer, as Travis seemed to be trying out his facial muscles. It turned out to be a golden opportunity to capture his fleeting smile for the masses. Check out this adorable picture and the rest on the gallery page.

(And, yes, for the record, he is smiling at his mother, not the guy in the snappy new green baseball cap.)

Choo Choo

Hallie and I are off to the New Hope Valley Railway to ride their holiday train. Kelly and Travis will pick up our new coffee table. We’ll all meet back for lunch.

All aboard!

Starting The Day Off With A Smile

Travis has definitely turned a corner now. Last night seemed a good night for him, snoozing straight from 10:30 until 1:30. He also fell asleep this morning in his bouncy seat – all by himself! Kelly was dancing a happy dance this morning at this accomplishment.

The highlight of the morning, however, was the big smile I got from him as I told him good morning . It was a bona-fide, no-question-about-it smile. I can’t tell you how cool that was. And he did it again! As I told him goodbye, he flashed me yet another one.

What a cool day. It’s the first time I got a smile from Kelly, Hallie, and Travis! Continue reading

Is Sleep On The Horizon?

Yesterday, we gave Travis a dose of Zantac in an effort to soothe his wakeful nights. I’ve been wondering if his constant crying was due to reflux, as babies have trouble keeping acid down until their stomachs get stronger. He gagged somewhat comically after he swallowed it, but otherwise didn’t seem to mind.

It might have done the trick! Travis was very calm and alert last evening before bed and slept better than he ever has. Kelly was very happy this morning, too. Amazing what a good night of sleep will do for you.

As for me, I’m hoping I can stop sleeping on the sofabed now that The Boy is catching onto this sleep thing. Let’s hope this improvement is a trend and not an abberation!

On another note, I can see why Glaxo makes so much dough. At fifty bucks a bottle, Zantac ain’t cheap!

Cheap Thoughts

It’s not what you want to happen, it’s what you expect to happen.

Happy Birthday, Kelly!

Today is the birthday of my beautiful wife and loving mother of my children, Kelly. It’s true what they say about how your wife gets more attractive when she becomes a mother.

Brains, beauty, and a wonderful mother, too. Did I luck out or what!
