Unbelievable Wolfpack game

After thawing out from our parade this morning I turned on the TV and was happy to see the Wolfpack ahead of the dreaded Tar Heels, 10 to 3. It was the start of a 41-10 drubbing the Pack would hand the Heels on their home field, on Carolina’s senior day no less.

Coach Tom O’Brien has carefully crafted the team into what it is today, and today the Wolfpack seemed utterly unstoppable. Any win is a good one against the Heels but this one was one for the record books.

Wolfpack beats Heels

Congrats to Coach Tom O’Brien and the N.C. State Wolfpack for holding off a gutsy Tar Heels team for a 31-27 win at Carter-Finley Stadium today. It was a nail-biter right to the end. Definitely a classic.

That’s four in a row, better than I expected O’Brien to do in his first season. Go Pack!

Pack’s Season Ends – Many Bright Ones To Follow

Congrats to Sydney Lowe and the Wolfpack for an exciting season of basketball. While it was sad to see for it to end last night, there is definitely some buzz back in Wolfpack basketball. I’m very optimistic about the future. Thanks for a great season, Pack! Well done!

Also congrats to Engin Atsur, who capped a phenomenal college career last night. He’s a great player and a great person who’ll be missed by the Wolfpack Nation. I look forward to hearing great things about Engin and I know there’ll be plenty.

“To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. Number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.”

The Post-Amato Period

The writing’s been on the wall for a while now, but yesterday N.C. State lowered the boom on football coach Chuck Amato and sent him walking. State’s turned in a couple of losing seasons and could not turn it around – with no relief on the horizon. You can’t come in firing people up about national championships and then expect them to be happy with a 3-9 season. Especially when you can’t beat an otherwise completely pathetic Tar Heels team.

Chuck couldn’t keep his assistant coaches for one reason or another. I think that really hurt the Pack more than anything. Now the question is … what do we do now?

Arrivederci, Amato

After yesterday’s trouncing by the lowly Tar Heels, I think Chuck will soon be packing his bags.

I hear there’s a spot open on Bobby Bowden’s staff . . .
