in Checking In

Tennis, trash pick-up, and furniture

It’s been a long and busy day for me. Travis had his last tennis lesson tonight: a two-hour session that began at 9. I spent most of that time playing tennis against Gabrielle, the parent of another student. When Travis complained about not feeling well, we headed for the car. There he had a change in heart and returned to his lesson, at which time I began to play tennis with Reid Serozi.

We returned home after 11 and the kids watched a movie while I got my lunch ready. I headed out the door for my friend Mandy’s house to join everyone for the trash pick-up along the road they adopted in Gerry’s honor. It was an impressive crowd and we fanned out on two ends of the road to dispose of the trash there. In the middle of our efforts it began to snow, which was a pleasant surprise. Cleaning up was hard work but it was fun to see so many great people again.

I left there to drive to Brier Creek, where we had purchased a table and hutch Friday. At that time we could only bring home the table so my trip today was to retrieve the hutch. With some assistance from the seller, I got the hutch in the van and made it back home.

Kelly and the kids were out back, building a snowman when the doorbell rang. A gentleman showed up to buy our china cabinet, so I spent the next hour helping him load it into his truck. In return, he helped unload the hutch I had brought home.

Not long afterward, Kelly left for her supper club night. The kids watched more of their movie and I made dinner. I then got the kids ready for bed.

Now its time for me to get ready for bed, as I’m quite worn out!
