Beer Night
Gerry’s “Beer Night” drinking buddies, Jeff, Scott, and myself, decided to get together last night for beers and to talk about Gerry. His good friends Bill Ramsay and Janet Mobley joined us at the North Hills Fox and Hound. We were only together for less than two hours but there was a lot of laughter and stories shared.
It was the best therapy I could’ve asked for during this difficult time. Gerry had a knack for collected some pretty cool friends.
Mark, I have never met you but I wanted to send my condolences. Gerry and I have probably known each other for about 5 years but in the past 2 years we became pretty good friends. He and I often emailed back and forth like a dozen or more times a day about ridiculous news headlines and youtube clips. For example, this is one that I got about a year ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHS_kVp3tAk. The most recent discussion was about Epic Beard Guy who we decided to name the team after. We have now decided to name the team after Gerry. Don’t know how yet. There was another time last summer that he said he needed to take a couple weeks off from hockey due to a hip flexer issue. I busted his balls a bit and sent the team an email that Gerry ruptured his penile implant with fun detailed description of the deal. I wish I had the old email. It was hilarious because he emailed back and extended the story that I wrote which was even better. His sense of humor was top notch and one of a kind.
Anyways, I figure you knew the same Gerry I knew and might appreciate this.
