I am puzzled as to how this could happen. Don’t they have bells and whistles to warn of nearby vessels?
They have bells, whistles, flares, radios, lights, lookouts, radar, sonar. Plus, there is a established plan for passage designed to avoid collisions. On the other hand, we’re lucky we didn’t shoot down any planes when the incident took place.
