in Checking In, Raleigh

Forwarding address

Looks like we’ll soon have a new forwarding address: 1108 Tonsler Drive in downtown Raleigh. We made an offer on the house and it was accepted tonight. From the time we first looked at it to the time we had an offer ready was less than 24 hours. Truth be told, when first we turned onto the street I knew instantly that this was where we are going to live.

The house sits on a .36 acre secluded lot. Its the last house on a dead-end street: not quite the “cul-de-sac heaven” the real estate agents drool over, but close as I’d like to get. The house itself was solidly built in 2006 and includes many nice touches. It also includes a huge unfinished space on the second floor, so there’s room to expand. One other bonus is there are no covenants on the house, so we can store our boat at home if desired, put up solar panels, or whatever.

Oh, and its within 2.5 miles of the center of downtown and in walking distance of the kids’ school. Sweet!

For an inside-the-Beltline home to be this big, this fancy, and to sit on a lot this spacious, it’s a home run. There’s lots to be done between now and closing (like selling our current house, for one), but barring some crazy hurdle popping up, we’ll be in our new digs by April.

We’re going to be eating more peanut butter meals but at least we’ve got a toehold where we want to be!

  1. That’s fantastic! Our very best wishes to you with it. Can’t wait for the housewarming!
