in Checking In

52 beats per minute

Just spent a moment during a conference call to measure my resting heart rate. It’s 52 beats per minute, which is pretty darn good. I’ve been walking briskly for 20 minutes every morning since we got the dog and think it’s paying off.

Also, my cholesterol is measuring down now, which is great news. The overall numbers are in the normal range, though there’s still room for improvement. Being healthy rules!

  1. I hope you’re also taking vitamins … it’s like life insurance … are you taking Omega-3’s??? … I used to hate taking them (too fish burpy!) until I found this Krill Oil product at Costco that is odor free … it’s the best thing you can do for your heart besides exercise.

  2. That’s excellent! I just wanted to pass on a comment my doctor made at my last checkup. He said to buy a name brand Omega-3 and not to buy them at Walmart or the big box stores. He said test studies are showing those are not proving to be as effective as Nature Made or other name brands.

  3. The Omega-3 product I take is from Schiff and called “MegaRed Omega-3 Krill Oil” (and claims it’s 3X better than fish oil) … really good stuff … around $19 per bottle from Costco.

Also … a great supplement I just started taking recently is Pycnogenol (French maritime pine bark extract) … I use the Trader Joes brand … really improves the circulation … great for the whole cardiovascular system.

For cholesterol lowering I take Roex brand Beta-Sitosterol … a natural way to lower your cholesterol without taking an evil statin drug … and your HMO won’t find out about it and jack up your rates.
