It’s 1:40 AM and we’re home now. Plane left Chicago an hour late but at least it left. Good thing I already had this morning off for a doctor’s appointment (which got cancelled when it looked like I wouldn’t make it).
See y’all tomorrow.

Glad to hear you made it home OK even if a bit later than you had planned.
A wise man once said: “I’ve done the planes-trains-automobiles routine so long now that I’m a stickler for catching the next required vehicle at all costs. You miss one of them and your whole day is often shot.” 😉

You should have waited for the Doctor to pay you not to take your appointment. Oh wait, Doctors don’t do that when they overbook… 🙂
Ron: Yeah, yeah. 🙂 I failed to account for a surprisingly slow hotel shuttle, a long security line at 6 AM, and an overabundance of carry-on items necessitated by traveling kids. If we’d been a mere 10 minutes earlier, we would’ve been home by 7 PM yesterday instead of 1 AM.
I take full blame for missing our flight, though. The plane left just when Southwest said it would. We weren’t there. My fault, totally.
Ralph: Heh. Good idea! I have other reasons for rescheduling that appointment, namely that my new insurance hasn’t kicked in yet.
