I’m up before everyone else, having been awakened by the sound of hooves creeping around a meter from my head outside the window. I’m pretty confident we’ll make the early ferry now, especially when we found out we could leave our sheets in the dryer rather than fold them. That alone shaves an hour off our departure time.
Judging by the pre-dawn horizon we’ll have yet another beautiful day. Should be a great view from the Seattle Sky Needle, one of many possible destinations today.
I’ll check in when the Internets allows.
When you get to Seattle don’t miss the Fremont Troll. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/WASEAtroll.html
“Waiting for the Interurban” is also in Fremont. A set of statues including a dog. The dog has the face of an honorary mayor who didn’t like the artist’s work. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/getaways/101096/intr30_top.html
Usually decked out in odd clothes and banners to celebrate a birthday or return or similar.
Fremont also has a rocket and a large staue of Lenin.
You will pass the houseboat location from Sleepless in Seattle on your way to Fremont.
We also liked Ye Old Curiosity Shoppe down on the waterfront:

Kids will like watching them throw the salmon around at Pike’s Place Fish Market. They do it close to the big pig. You will see the crowds. They usually have a really ugly fish on ice over on the right. If you bend down to look at it someone will pull a string to make it wag its jaw at you. Made my wife jump.
Just north of the fish market on the other side of the street is the original Starbucks. The interesting thing about it is that they still have the original logo. Check it out and you will see what they gave up to go national.
