Last night, Tropical Depression Ophelia was named as it took a turn towards the north. I was getting my hopes up that finally we’d get some rain, but then the five-day forecast has it getting pushed farther out to sea. It’s tracking kind of crazy right now, so where it ends up is anyone’s guess. While I don’t wish a hurricane on anyone, it would be nice if it were to gently blow across the state, bringing much-needed rain with it.
FYI – Hurricanes aren’t noted for “gently blowing” across any state….
we have something that you can give a gentle blow…
What these people have been through is about as far from funny as you can get. These people have lost all they have. Cut them some slack.
Good luck on getting Ophelia to “blow your way”. If you are a hurricane nut like me, check out http://www.crownweather.com/tropical.html for all the info you could possibly want on tropical systems.
Thanks for visiting the Margarita Lounge…I’m always glad to have new readers. I won’t hold your political views against you…”The Senator” is a good friend of mine and we enjoy having a few beers when we can get together.
This has no reflection on the beleagured people of New Orleans. My heart is heavy for their losses, the extent of which we can only speculate at this early on…my point was merely to draw attention to the fact that you openly wished for rain to be delivered by the very next tropical system to threaten the US merely days after these people got enough rain to last a year of Sundays. Keep the hurricanes out to sea and use a sprinkler rather than inviting the forces of nature into OUR realm. They are fine where they are…out to sea. If you want rain, move to Seattle…i lived there, it wasn’t that bad…but, then again it wasn’t coming down an inch an hour…more like an inch a week. Keep your hurrican wishes and fertility dreams far out to sea where they belong…we can get along fine without it…the people of New Orleans wish they had never heard of a hurricane, tropical storm, depression or other, don’t wish one on us no matter how innocent the intent.
Sorry, I misinterpreted your post as telling the residents of NO to go blow. My bad.
As for Ophelia, I’d like it to dissolve into a tropical wave, bringing buckets of rain. The wind can stay out to sea! As it looks today, though, Ophelia may spin out to sea for good.
I was actually role-palying what I though the residents of NO would be sayiing to you. But, it is all cleared up now. How about a gentle summer shower instead?
