Sleeping and blogging don’t mix. I’ve not been doing much of either, lately. Travis has a ways to go before he learns how to do this sleep stuff. In the meantime, we’re all getting too used to seeing each other every hour or two during the night.
Today, though, I wondered if Travis has turned a corner of sorts. He was very relaxed and aware throughout the evening. The three more mobile family members ate dinner while he peered up at us from his bouncy seat.
Afterward, he actually let me hold him without wailing the whole time! I was so thrilled at this. Usually, he’s got a 20 second fuse with me before he cranks up and demands the Food Parent. Instead, I got to carry him around the room, during which he happily fell limp as a rag, curling up in my arms like a football. He was so out of it that I got away with carting him around the yard as I adjusted sprinklers!
He’s never been so comfortable with me until now. It’s great to see, and it makes me want to hold him again and again. And my weary wife must be thrilled at that thought, too. Bless her heart!
