… if you don’t care that they’re not perfect, pristine, fresh-out-of-the-bag-from-Office-Depot boxes, try a grocery store nearby. They often have plenty of cardboard boxes from produce/stock that they just throw away (or recycle). Produce boxes are usually about the same size as those file boxes from an office supply store. If they have any sitting around, they’ll probably let you just take whatever you need. Especially now, the price is right. 😉
If you need big boxes, hit the cardboard dumpsters at appliance stores (late in the afternoon, after the delivery trucks come back). Also, try places like Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, and computer clone shops. With all the shipments that they get, plus all of their floor displays, they’re bound to have lots of empty boxes.
Thanks for the tips! I found the perfect source. Shane O’Donnell just moved this week and has stacks and stacks of boxes around. I will be picking them up this week.
