BTW, I'm very surprised that the Bring Google Fiber to Durham page has over 1000 more people on it than the Raleigh one. What's up with that?

Ok, this bothers me:

"The magazine also recognized Raleigh for the tech knowledge created at Research Triangle Park giants such as Cisco and at nearby research universities."

Sorry, but RTP is not in Raleigh. If anything it's in Durham. (Yes, I realize it's not actually in either but it's a lot closer to Durham than it is to Raleigh.) And two of the three "research universities" are not in Raleigh either!

I got a timer that starts counting up after it signals the end of its count down and you hit the "shut up" button. It came with two timers, one that is a dial type and mechanical. The electronic one has the count up function as well as a clock when not in timer mode. :-)

Thanks, Josh! Yes, that is typical Gerry (and an amazing YouTube clip).

I hope to meet you at Gerry's funeral and party!

Mark, I have never met you but I wanted to send my condolences. Gerry and I have probably known each other for about 5 years but in the past 2 years we became pretty good friends. He and I often emailed back and forth like a dozen or more times a day about ridiculous news headlines and youtube clips. For example, this is one that I got about a year ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHS_kVp3tAk. The most recent discussion was about Epic Beard Guy who we decided to name the team after. We have now decided to name the team after Gerry. Don't know how yet. There was another time last summer that he said he needed to take a couple weeks off from hockey due to a hip flexer issue. I busted his balls a bit and sent the team an email that Gerry ruptured his penile implant with fun detailed description of the deal. I wish I had the old email. It was hilarious because he emailed back and extended the story that I wrote which was even better. His sense of humor was top notch and one of a kind.
Anyways, I figure you knew the same Gerry I knew and might appreciate this.

take care,
