Nancy Cooper

I’ve been following the Nancy Cooper case from the time she was simply missing. It hit a bit close to home as I was canvassing a nearby Cary neighborhood at the time. Also Nancy was a friend and neighbor of an online acquaintance. I was ready to volunteer with the search when the sad news came that she had been found.

The obvious suspect in cases like these is the spouse, or someone else very close to the victim. Throughout it all, her husband, Brad Cooper, has reportedly been “devastated” and cooperative with authorities. That Cary police have no suspects this late in the investigation (and that at the onset Brad Cooper came right out and admitted they had marital issues) makes me second-guess my initial suspicion that Brad Cooper is complicit.

Since my buddy Greg is getting into ham radio, last night I decided to dust off my radio scanner. Listening discreetly at work this morning, I just heard a call come into Raleigh Police that sounded eerily familiar: just now a man reported his wife missing for three hours after she went jogging.

Just now another call: this one about a woman who didn’t show up for work. “Out of character for her,” said the dispatcher.

Folks, maybe people are just on edge but there just could be something bigger going on here. I’m going to give Brad Cooper the benefit of the doubt for now.

  1. That’s really nice of you, Mark! I’m sure Brad appreciates it… 😉
