Now What?

I feel like the dog that finally caught the car it was chasing: now what? I’ve got a tank full of 330 gallons of rainwater and nothing yet to do with it. Spent some time yesterday with Travis at Lowes, looking for some piping I could use to hook up a garden hose to the tank. Out of a long aisle there was exactly nothing I needed. Guess I’ll have to be more creative.

Kelly suggested siphoning the water off the top, which is a good idea. I have a few larger buckets I could fill with that method, then decide later how to divvy it up.

Another reason I’m ready to start emptying this thing is that I didn’t site the tank properly before the rains began. Now that the ground has settled and the tank has filled it leans a little on the house. That’s 2,600 pounds of water. Though not all of it is cuddling the garage I’ll feel a lot better when I can take some of the load off. Anyone wanting to wash your car with free rainwater feel free to stop by!
