Just goes to show that not even the best meteorologists get it right all the time. There's no way we got even 6 inches from this storm (at least where I live and at the office). And with the temperatures going up this weekend, what did fall won't be around long.

Tom and I talked about this this morning. We think the totals are correct for this area (~ 6"), but the rain and sleet we got in between storms compacted the snow a bit.

I measured five inches of snow on my porch this morning.

The snow started falling around 7:30 AM Thursday in Charlotte and didn't finally quit until Friday evening. By Friday morning, we had 12-16 inches on snow and sleet. Then the temp shot up to 60 on Saturday and Sunday, and the snow started melting like crazy. It'll take a few more days to disappear, especially the "mountains" in the parking lots.
